I am a home theater beginner and am having trouble connecting all the pieces of the puzzle. Are there any sites or resources that might help. The equipment I am trying to connect are: Yamaha reciever, Older big screen, vcr, dvd, satalite and cable, 2 front, 2 rear center channel and sub. I have tried several times but something always seems to be missing.
    Thanks for the help,
    RandyH

I think crutchfield.com and monster cables websites have pdf files that show you how to hook up stuff.

There should be links to both on my site as well.

Hi Randy, and welcome to the forum.
You might try first connecting up just one source to your Yamaha receiver, and your speakers to the Yamaha, and confirm that things work at that point. Then you can add in additional components.
If you wind up having questions/problems, you can probably get folks here at HTF to help you out. Be sure to post a very specific question though, listing the gear involved, the connection types available, what you've tried, what was the result, etc.
With a little patience (and enough cables) it usually isn't too bad. [IMG]
