On January 7 the Baseball Hall of Fame will announce its' newest members.

There are thirty-three men on this year’s ballot. The members of the BBWAA can vote for up to ten players. Here are the players that are on the ballot.

    Bert Blyleven
    Brett Butler
    Gary Carter
    Vince Coleman
    Dave Concepcion
    Darren Daulton
    Mark W. Davis
    Andre Dawson
    Sid Fernandez
    Steve Garvey
    Rich Gossage
    Keith Hernandez
    Rick Honeycutt
    Danny Jackson
    Tommy John
    Jim Kaat
    Darryl Kile
    Don Mattingly
    Jack Morris
    Dale Murphy
    Eddie Murray
    Dave Parker
    Tony Pena
    Jim Rice
    Ryne Sandberg
    Lee Smith
    Bruce Sutter
    Danny Tartabull
    Mickey Tettleton
    Alan Trammell
    Fernando Valenzuela
    Mitch Williams
    Todd Worrell

Ok, whom would you vote for?

Here are the players that I would vote for on the list:

    1.Eddie Murray
    2.Ryne Sandberg
    3.Lee Smith
    4.Rich Gossage
    5.Bruce Sutter
    6.Jim Rice
    7.Andre Dawson
    8.Gary Carter
    9.Jim Kaat

Also, I’m not certain of the all the names on the “new” HOF members ballot (this is the replacement for the Old Timers committee) but I do know that Ron Santo is on the ballot and he should be in the HOF.

I am not a baseball snob, or elitist, but I think it would be a shame if Jack Morris didn't get in. If I am not mistaken, he had the most wins in the 80's and pitched some of the best playoff baseball I have ever seen.

How did Mitch Williams even make the ballot?

All I will ever remember the "Wild Thing" for is giving up the World Series winning home run to Joe Carter.

I'd like to see Kaat in.

On the Pete Rose thing... if you bet on baseball you're out, forever. Those are the rules, but if Pete Rose admits that he did bet on baseball he gets back in? Makes no sense to me. I thought the one good thing Bud lite had been doing was keeping Rose out. Now Bud lite has a perfect record.

No Ron Santo on the list? This may be his last living chance. The man has already lost both legs and came back from the dead once just to see his name placed where it belongs.

So much for the all cubbie ballot.

I knew there had to be a reasonable explanation other than their career statistics. [IMG]

There is no way Ryne Sanberg or Dale Murphy belong the HOF ahead of Jim Rice.
