I stumbled across this passage about some new BeoLab 5 speakers on wired.com:

    "Towers of Power:
Standard stereo speakers have a sweet spot; Bang & Olufsen's latest pair has a sweet field. The cone-shaped towers bounce highs and mids off a series of aluminum discs, radiating sound 180 degrees horizontally and eliminating ceiling and floor reflections. The result: killer audio everywhere in the room. With 4 amps per speaker cranking out a total of 2,500 watts, these bad boys are ready to rumble."

    This is their webpage:

I was just curious if anyone have actually listened to these speakers and what their impressions were.

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

I just read about these from a report on www.cnn.com in talking about best gadgets of the year.

These look like some pretty amazing speakers!

As was originally requested, has anyone seen/heard these speakers?

Sound and Vision reviewed them recently and gave them a very good review. Haven't heard them personally, sorry

Wouldn't this diffuse sound destroy the soundstage? They do look...interesting. They remind me of Rosie, the robot maid from the Jetsons.
