The Anamorphic widescreen should definitely look. I wonder how it will stack up to the HD broadcast? This would be a good opportunity for Dreamworks(or HBO?) to add to their DVHS titles, with BOB in HD. Oh, well. At least the DVDs will have DTS, which should be amazing. The Dolby Digital in the broadcast version rivaled even Saving Private Ryan.

It is going to be an expensive 11 days: [IMG]

    BOB 11/5
Star Trek: TNG Season 5 11/5
    X-Files Season 6 11/5

That's about $400 right there. [IMG]

The set looks fantastic. However because the show hasn't even come to Australia yet I was wondering what the show is like. Because I always enjoy war movies and was a fan of Saving Private Ryan.

So is it worth buying sight unseen?

    Thanks in advance guys.

I don't know about "better"...it's different. But if it's any indication to you, I watched the entire series on HBO...BOTH times it was aired.
I can't wait...that's worth draining the savings account for! [IMG]

Let me be the first to complain... [IMG]
After hearing Graham Yost wax poetic on the Speed DVD, I would have loved to hear him on the episodes he had a hand in. Granted, the subject matter doesn't lend itself as fanciful a tone, but this guy could make the phone book interesting.

Adrian, I am such a huge fan of Saving Private Ryan. It is on my top ten list of all time. And all I have to say is that Band of Brothers is better than Saving Private Ryan as a whole. Band of Brothers has so much more depth than SPR. The battle and fight scenes are just as good. Although I do not think anything will ever rival the opening battle scene of SPR. The audio of Band of Brothers is absolutely stunning right from the Dolby Digital feed of satellite. On dvd and in DTS. Get out of here. This will be the best tv show series to dvd you can put your hands on. The packaging of the series looks awesome. November will be a very epensive month but the most memorable one in dvd history! Enjoy and definately but Band of Brothers nseen! You will be vewing it in the best way possible. Oh, by the way, this is the first time I have used spell check here and it works great.

Thanks for the responses. Will definitely have to pre-order this as soon as Amazon has it up for pre-order. Damn November is going to be a huge buying month. Between Lord of the Rings Extended Edition this and now Star Wars I will be broke!

The that case looks really cool too. I am a sucker for cases like these. I dropped $30 on Akira because it had a shiny metal case and I hadn't even seen the movie when I bought it.

Well Seth, I guess spell check didn't work the way it was supposed to. I did the spell check and it showed me those incorrect words and I thought that I changed them. It should have been , buy & unseen. I guess I had 1 too many Black Russians last night.[IMG]

I can't wait to get this series on DVD and I would have no worries telling someone to buy it unseen. IMO Band Of Brothers is what SPR should/could of been.

"I swear Silent Bob, the whole f**king DVD industry is against us."

How broke will I be in November, let me count the ways.

I have yet to see one episode of Band of Brothers since I don't have HBO. However, I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this set, and I will be all over it on release day.
