I never saw this miniseries. Always wanted to, and now thanks to that $35 pricetag, I could not resist.
Is this the entire story of World War II seen through the eyes of a group brothers? That is the idea I get from the description of this series.
In any event, I can't wait to see it!

Ron, this is a FANTASTIC series. It's actually the story of a Company of US infantry as they fight their way across Europe. ("Band of Brothers" is figurative -- it's a quote from Shakespeare's Henry V.) Note that the first episode is probably the weakest one, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't live up to expectations at first. The rest is brilliant. (Which is not to say that the first episode isn't good.)
The Blu-Ray apparently includes pop-up video commentary by the real soldiers who are portrayed by actors in the show. I am really excited to see that.
This is actually part of a week of HBO DVD sales for Amazon's Deal of the Day in the Gold Box. Yesterday, they had the Sopranos complete series set for $149.99. They're supposed to have a different HBO set every day through Sunday. I'm hoping for a good price on the Deadwood series set that may make me bite on it.
Ron, the second half of Part Nine, "Why We Fight", is some of the most powerful television I have ever seen. The rest of the series is fantastic as well, but damn does that episode pack an emotional wallop.
