well, is it? or should I buy it?
I think you should buy it. I'm sure it would be a cherished addition to your collection.
I haven't seen it, but it does have the distinction of receiving exactly zero positive reviews in a survey of 89 critics on Rotten Tomatoes.com. That's quite an accomplishment!
Yeah, getting a zero is quite a feat on Rotten Tomatoes. Even bad popcorn movies usually get at least 40%. Jeff
Well, I just scratched this one off my "to-rent" list.
One other thing: Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever has to be the most awkward movie title I've ever seen.
I guess it really depends on what you're looking for, David. The early reviews of the disc make it sound pretty threadbare, and as for the movie...well...it's from Franchise Pictures (makers of Driven and 3,000 Miles to Graceland). If this is where your taste in flicks goes, go for it. As for me, I may pick it up the day the people at the counter begin to pay me to take discs off of their hands. I couldn't get into it.
Hmmmm... we rented and watched it the other night. It wasn't a great movie, or even a very good one, but it is far from the worst movie we've seen this year. We actually enjoyed it more than xXx. We are still scratching our head about why exactly it was rated R. There was little profanity and no sex. The violence was not graphic...in fact, other than one scene of a guy getting a single bullet to the head (I've seen worse on TV), the violence was mostly made up of gunfire and explosions.
I enjoyed it. Lucy Liu's performance has shades of the electra character from Frank Miller's stint as writer/artist of Daredevil.
i would say it's worth at least a rental, especially if you have a nice HT setup. i've seen worse movies in the action/style genre. if you like Woo stuff, this is okay. i agree with the poster that this is definitely better than xXx. at least this movie doesn't pretend to be smart.
IMHO, if you have a decent subwoofer, you might enjoy it (meaning you will feel good about your subwoofer). If you don't, it's a waste of time
Trust me...if you want to see this, RENT IT FIRST. I rented it, and have never been so bored with an "action" film before...and I'm a big fan of Antonio Bandaras and Lucy Lu.
The movie is full of craps. Avoid it at all cost.
So I guess even if the action part of the movie sucks, there still is no reason to watch it because Lucy Lu does not show any skin. That was the only way I was going to watch that movie anyway was to see her!
Why couldnt you have told me this before?
I Just ordered the movie...
I sure hope you are all wrong this time!
Why would you buy a movie before seeing it?
Why would you want to buy a movie you've already seen?
Quote: Why would you want to buy a movie you've already seen? Why would you want to buy a song you've already listened? Same difference.
it's not that bad, but I fell asleep, and bloody static menu screen left a nasty burn-in on week old plasma. grin.
I rent or go to the movies, I would never take a chance and possibly waste $20.00 on a movie I might hate!
