I own both, and enjoy both. I find Brain Dead to be a better and funnier movie, which I can watch more often. So which do you guys/gals prefer?

I prefer BRAINDEAD (aka DEAD-ALIVE), because I love zombies, this film is much funnier and gorier than BAD TASTE, and while I like and own BAD TASTE, I find it quite overrated.

Which do I prefer?! OMG - LOL!

OK. Seriously. I kinda like Meet the Feebles best.

NO. Really seriously...Bad taste is full of energy and it's funny but Brain Dead is even more hilarious and it's technically and structurally much better.

I can only take any of these in fairly small doses. No wonder some people blanched when they discovered Peter Jackson (*that* Peter Jackson) was making their Precious into a movie.

My fave PJ flick pre-LOTR is Heavenly Creatures. I would LOVE to see the original NZ version of this.

Look out - "The bastards have landed!"

I guess I might be out of the norm, but Bad Taste all the way. I find it to be more fun than Braindead. Sure the gun battle goes on a bit too long, but it holds up so well on repeat viewings - who wouldn't want to watch a sheep get blown to bits. I still love Braindead a lot but Bad Taste takes the cake in my book - its the ultimate do-it-yourself film.

    Dead/Alive is the better film.

    Dead Alive

I found Bad Taste hard to watch. I can respect it for being an incredible achievement(sure beats the hell out of The Blair Witch Project), and it has some hilarious moments(the exploding sheep, a drop-kicked head), but I didn't enjoy it much. The production values were just too low...

I love Bad Taste, it's hysterical and only cost 50p to make, I love it to bits, some classic visual jokes inc our heroes firing a missile at a house and missing, hitting a cow in a field instead, also some old geezer munching on a bowl of vomit and uttering the immortal line "I got a chunky bit!". Classic stuff.[IMG]
Whatever did happen to Peter Jackson?

Personally I have to go with Dead Alive. Especially after I saw it at a midnight screening here in Minneapolis. With an audience, Dead Alive is so funny, dare I say is was a magical experience?

Wow! Wotta great place. I can't believe this many HTFers have seen Brain Dead and Bad Taste. I love this place.

For extra honors, how many of you have seen Meet the Feebles?

How many of you have seen the NZ fantasy The Navigator?

Put me down for Bad Taste. Guess I have lots of that![IMG]
But seriously, I never really liked Brain Dead much. Although the kung-fu vicar was hilarious.

The first time I saw Bad Taste I think I laughed harder than I did with Dead Alive, but I think Dead Alive is a better movie. As far as I'm concerned, everything Peter Jackson has ever touched has turned to gold. The only director where I can say EVERY single movie gets my "Matt Seal of Approval!"

Here's hoping to an excellent Anchor Bay Meet the Feebles DVD next year.
