According to Dark Horizons today Universal has told them that Back To The Future Trioligy is coming to dvd in the summer of 2002.
Now if this is true we'll finally be able to see these fine
movies on dvd after 4/5 years of delays.
As far as I am concerned I can't wait for these movies to be released on dvd !!

Ya it looks like Dark Horizons said that they got word directly from universal, looks like my collection is nearing perfection with only Indy and Star Wars left to go!

Yawn...not that I won't be excited about this title when it does come out, just that this is about the 298th rumor in a row, and I've become very skeptical.

My guess is that there might be a Back to the Future announcement in summer of 2002. I don't see anyway we get this that early.

This comes at no surprise. Universal ends its foreigh distribution with Columbia at the end of 2001. This may mean we will see some of Universal's best titles in 2002. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Back to the Future in the summer if an ad campaign begins in a few months.

This is my all time favorite movie. I've been waiting for it to come out forever. I don't get excited anymore when I hear a scheduled release date. I guess I'll believe it when I see it in my hand.

At this point I'll only believe it when I hold the friggin' thing in my hand.
It's really not logical. Universal already gets to put out ET next year, and the rumor is strong that Indy will finally hit next year. Ya' think Steven S. will let THAT many cat's out of the DVD bag all at once?!?!?!?!

Don't the overseas rights for BTTF switch from Columbia to Universal sometime in 2002? Wasn't that the biggest reason for the delay: Universal wanted the rights worldwide instead of just the U.S.?

Ha, when pigs fly! Incidentally, I will be setting up my pig-launcher the day before these come out in 2037.

Well, we already know that Schindler's List and E.T. are DEFINITELY coming from Universal. Steven Spielberg will probably only need to be directly involve in projects he directed, so it'll be all Zemeckis on the BTTF trilogy (which is fine). So, if Indy came out that WOULD be five films from Steven in 2002, which seems unlikely. But I don't think the release of the BTTF trilogy would affect that since it's really not Spielberg's thing as much. I really hope that Paramount does put out Indy in August 2002, because that's their big title release window, but they'll probably just release Grease instead
