I just read from a reputable R4 Australian sight that some buyers of the JP3 Disc have seen a Rental Trailer for BBTF w/Huey Lewis Footage. Anybody else have more info?

Hi folks ... Happy Christmas and all that malarkey !!!
This post reminded me of something I read over here about a BTTF DVD Trailer ... I have had a look on the BBFC (British Censors)web site (www.bbfc.co.uk) and sure enough they list the following (hope it copies OK?)
"BACK TO THE FUTURE - DVD TRAILER Video
    Advertisement
    Classified 20 November, 2001 . Run Time 3m 2s
    Advice for consumers
No consumer advice is available for this work
When submitted to the BBFC the work had a running time of 3m 2s.
This work was passed with no cuts made.
At the time of classification Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd was the holder of the rights or the brand name for this work"
This seems to imply a DVD is indeed imminent
Sorry if this is old news

Not quite sure why it's fishy upon reading through the other posts. The trailer is reported to be on the JP3 R4 DVD - not the R1.
No reason to doubt the validity of what the original poster is saying.
It's good news from my perspective, either way [IMG]
As far as I'm concerned it's the strongest confirmation that the DVDs are on the way, in 2002, by far.
Here's a quote from the thread, for convenience sake:

the reason i think it's a bit fishy is b/c i have yet to see a rental version that differes from a buy version. I was always refering to the R4 release by the way.

If BTTF.com is confirming a report, then the BTTF DVDs *MUST* be coming! [IMG]

The following was reported on www.movieheadlines.net today:
"Universal says that Back to the Future will be released on DVD In Australia sometime mid-year. However, it's a different story in America. Although the DVD's are due sometime this year too, they are holding off because they might be re-releasing the original "Back to the Future" movies to cinemas."
Sweeet!! - well - considering I'm in Australia it's sweet [IMG]

Someone bought up an interesting point on an another board that I lurk at. What if Spielberg tells Zemeckis to edit the terrorist references out of the first movie for re-release to theaters? Is it a possibility? Are Spielberg and Zemeckis still buddies?

    Sincerely,
