no Eric Stoltz:

"Despite the fan interest, it's doubtful that any Eric Stoltz footage will be included in the BTTF DVD release. No one particularly wants to relive what was an uncomfortable situation...and we don't want to do anything that would be perceived as harmful to Stoltz."

I'm not a humongous fan of these movies, but I'm curious if we're going to see any of the Eric Stotlz footage before he was replaced.

***post above answered question***

What is the Eric Stoltz stuff that people want?
Stoltz was originally cast as Marty McFly, and later replaced. Some footage with Stoltz was shot for the film, and its inclusion in a documentary created for the DVD was a bone of contention between Stoltz and the studio, and may have been a factor in delaying the release of the set. (Stoltz obviously wasn't let go because he was doing a stunningly brilliant job as McFly in the eyes of the studio, and he evidently objected to having what many consider a sub-par performance hauled out of the vault and shown to the public.)

Regards,

Joe

Awesome!

Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! (dances around the room naked)

As to why the hoverboard thing is listed on the 1st disc, I have two theories:

1) An error in the posting (the 2nd disc's list of features look rather thin compared to the other two)

2) Ran out of room on the 2nd disc?

Maybe they wanted to use the hoverboard in the first movie, tried it, but didn't like the way the effects worked......

Okay, that's just scary... :D
I just can't see anyone else but Michael J Fox as Marty McFly - he IS Marty McFly. Those pictures with Eric Stoltz just don't seem "right" to me. It would be interesting to see the footage though.

Wow. Thanks for posting those pictures - that is so amazing to see exact scenes with another principle. Looks like they shot a substantial number of key sequences. It is too bad we can't see the footage..

Am I only the only one concerned that they are putting all the extras on the same disc as the movie? I wonder if there are bandwidth issues here that may, to some degree, affect the quality of the video.

Dave,

BTTF is resonably short at 110 minutes, so there is a good extra hour of space on a Dual Layered disc without much image problem. I would imagine there is only 1 5.1 track and a pair of stereo tracks-- should leave plenty of room.

If the extras are short (less than an hour per disc combined), space may not be a problem.

There is also the possibility of DVD-18?

Edit: oops Vince beat me.
