Not strictly a movie theater related annoying clerk question, but I worked at a Blockbuster while in college so I'd get all sorts of ridiculous questions. At the moment, I'm remembering one customer who had requested we put a note on her account requiring that we check her ID before renting (apparently her sister or someone had used her card and ran up a bunch of late fees). So every time she'd come in, I'd follow the direction on the account and ask for ID, and she'd get super upset at being asked. Each time, I'd tell her it was set up that way because she herself asked for it. I'd offer to take that warning off if she didn't like it there, but she'd insist we leave it. Next visit, same temper tantrum. People are weird.
