Just a quick question on the best way to set up the sub/speakers in my new environment.

I have:

HK 325
mains=b&w 603 s3
center b&w lcr 60r
rear= speakercraft 6.5 inch in ceiling speakers
future rear=b&w 600 s3
sub=b&w asw 600
I listen to 80% music and 20% movies

Wondering,
1. if I should hook up my speakers to my sub?
2. what to set the crossover on the receiver to (80 for mains) for all my speakers.
3. if it is a waste to crossover at so high even if my speakers can go down to 40 or so.

I think I have gotten addicted to this stuff. Thanks in advance.

The way I do it: run one connector from sub to sub input on the receiver. Set crossover at 80Hz, or let the receiver do it automatically at either 80, 90 or 100 simply by setting speakers to small with sub on.

That's how HT was designed to work. Of course, there are some who are never satisfied and insist on tweaking something to death. I was like that until I realized the parameters were set up for a reason. Now I just sit back and enjoy.

Mark the HK reciever will let you set the crossover at 40, 60, 80, 100. So your not locked into just 80. I would run everything through the receiver and just configure it with the onscreen menu. Its all pretty simple with the HK. I have a 320 and I love it.
