I am interested in how the $495 upgrade to the Ref 30/ 307 has worked out for the owners. What parts have been upgraded and how has the upgrade affected every day use/ergonomics of the B&K. Thanks.

I sent my REF 30 in last week and B&K has already shipped it back I will let you know.

You get the new Motorola (56367-DSP) processor.
New 24/192 akm DACs, all the new formats of the Ref50.
These are on new system boards/cards.
You also get the new blue display.
New User's manual.
No new face plate.
No SR10.1 remote, this can be purchased from B&K.
For the price, the upgrade is a great deal.
B&K will try to burn-in test for a few days prior to return shipping.
The Ref30 will become a ref31, the 307 will be a 317

Ugh. I sent my Ref 30 in to B&K back in September for the Ref 31 upgrade. I got news about 3 weeks ago that it should be ready in January.

Thank god I have an old Yamaha RX-V2095 or I would be dead in the water.

Wow, something went wrong there. I sent mine in on Wednesday 10/22. They called and confirmed they had received it, did the upgrade and sent it back Monday 10/27. I received it Friday 10/31.

I know several people at B&K after meeting them at the past cedia shows, maybe I can be of assistance some how,
i'm sure they will compensate you if they are at fault in any way. I know they will
btw: they will not deposit/cash payment checks until after the upgraded unit has been returned shipped.
