Do any one know what is the difference between the two?
Are they equivalent judging the sound they processes?
What would you recommend?
Thank you

When you upgraded the Ref 30 to the Ref 31 it essentially became a Ref 50. I have the 307 receiver (which is the Ref 30 processor and an internal amp) and recently contacted B&K to check into an upgrade. They said that the upgrade turns the 307 into the 507 (as a processor). As you know, the 507 is the Ref 50 with an internal amp, so your Ref 31 is now a Ref 50 processor. There are physical differences, but not processing differences.

I'm saying that the internal processing is identical. The 31 and the 50 are the same thing with a different wrapper...
