Ok, I'm upgrading my HT system and will be buying a new center and fronts. I'm currently looking at:

    Axiom M3 or M22 paired with VP100 or VP150
    Boston Acoustics CR85 with CRC
    Energy c1 with C-C1
    or Used B&W 601 or 602 with CC6

I was leaning toward the Axiom, but I've heard strong preferences for the VP150 over VP100. Problem is, the 150 is huge!! I don't think I could convice my wife to go with the VP150. So, do I go with the VP100 or choose one of the other options?

I recently purchased a set of Axiom "Master" speakers.
My fronts are the M3ti's, the center is the VP 100, my surrounds are QS4's, and my Sub is the Axiom EP175.
    Yes, I'm very happy.

Here's a link to a previous thread regarding the placement.

There's a photo of the axiom speakers, that might give you a little perspective of their size.

I think you should take your wife out for a nice dinner and casually bring up the subject of home theater and the importance of a quality center speaker. [IMG] The VP-150 may be somewhat large, but it fits very nicely on most sets and looks great. I just received mine (along with a pair of QS8s) a couple of days ago, and my wife is absolutely thrilled with how the speakers look (and sound!)

I have not auditioned the VP-100, but I can tell you that the VP-150 exceeded my expectations in every way. It's a fantastic center.

Here's a picture of my new VP-150 (grille off) sitting on top of my 53" widescreen TV.
