Now that you own Axiom speakers, do you regret not buying something else? I read these were great speakers, but I'm very suspicious. I've never heard them. I want to buy the Mt3's as mains, the VP100 as my center, and the Qs4 surrounds. I have a limited budget so this is all I can afford. Just wondering if anyone bought them and wasn't totally happy with them.
Thanks for the replies

I have the M-80si as my mains and VP-150 and Qs8 for the side surrounds and I love them. I am extremely glad I got them they play both very loud and very clear, very detailed great imageing and a great great bargain they are wonderful speakers and you will not go wrong by buying any of their products. I agree 100% with what John said.
I just got a pair of Axiom's M40's and they are sweet sounding speakers. I like them better than my M3's, as mains. Next step is putting the M3's as surrounds. My VP100 matches both sets of speakers lovely.
The only other speakers I've thought about getting are Energy Connoisseurs. To me, those are some BEAUTIFUL speakers. But I'm just talking looks here, because I've never heard the Energy's.
If I had to say one bad thing about Axiom speakers is that they're rather plain-looking in black, which is what I have. I hear they look real nice in cherry or maple finish.
All in all, I'm very happy with my Axioms. I'd upgrade a lot of other components before I got rid of these speakers.

Brook, I have that exact setup and I am very happy with it.
They are an excellent bargain and are as good as speakers that cost much more. Once they are broken in, they will give you clean detailed sound at almost any volume level.
I would definately recommend them if you are on a budget. :)

by playing a speaker you break it in.

it usually takes 100hrs to fully break in.

(just a note, i don't think it breaks in any faster by the volume played, within reason)

It took about 75-80 hours to break them in.

The speakers sounded a little harsh out of the box and the bass was a little muddy.

But now after breaking them in, they seem to have lost that and are now much more crisp and clear to my ear.

Brook,

I have exactly the same setup in a 18.5x15 and cathedrial ceilings and can not be any happier with the speakers. The speakers fill the room very nicely. You will be amazed at the sound the speakers produce. Don't second guess yourself. You made the right choice. Hope you enjoy.

If you like your music/HT loud, clean, and detailed, Axiom speakers are great values. My M22ti's put out enourmous sound for their size, and IMHO, very accurate as well.

I recently bought M3Ti's for my mains and a VP100 centre channel. I'm planning on getting either M40Ti's or M60Ti's in the future and moving the M3's to the rear.

I am extremely satisfied with the speakers I currently have. I listen to about 60% music and 40% movies.

When auditioning, I also considered Paradigms (Monitor line), PSB and the Energy Connoisseurs. Luckily, there are a few Axiom dealers in Toronto, so auditioning those was a possibility. I think it's difficult to buy speakers without listening to them, and there can be some apprehension as a result. However, since there are many who have taken the 'Axiom plunge' and not regretted it, it seems to make sense that these might be a good buy. Plus, there's always the money-back guarantee that Axiom offers.

Good luck with your decision!

I just got my pair of M3s this weekend and played them continuously for 45 hours. I fell in love with them and just ordered another pair last night.

You definitely need to break these things in. When you do, Look out! Great for music, but even better for HT, IMO.

Nick,

What are some dealers in Toronto that sell Axiom speakers?
The place i found them was at Number 1 Sound on College St. (West of Assington Ave.)

I just ordered some....an amazing deal, I might add....

2 MT2's - $160.00
2 QS4 Surrounds - $248.00 (Factory outlet)

4 speakers - $408.00 shipped....pretty amazing. I am using them to complement my current front soundstage as side & rear surrounds. Since the budget is tight, this works out nicely as I can add a VP center for $120.00 later and have a complete second 5 speaker system for $528.00.....I will try and get them hooked up and see how they sound with my main speakers - but one guy at avsforum used the QS4's with Diva's and was quite impressed, he is advocating Axiom surrounds to mate with Diva's where space is tight.

I just received my M3ti's today from Axiom which I bought from the factory outlet and there a *minor* blemish on only one of the speakers that is really hard to see unless you are about 6 inches away.

My initial impression of these speakers are great. I've been listening for about 10 minutes and they sound alright. I'll give them a week or two to break in and then I'll give a modest review.

I got these to replace my paradigm mini monitors and so far I think they are better and they're not even broken in yet!! And guess what, they are cheaper!! woohoooo!!

I love my Axioms and have never experienced any buyer's remorse or regretted for one second the decision to buy them. Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who has owned his since July of '01, meaning that I've had plenty of time with them! :D
