Does anyone here own or at least listened to the Axiom M3 in-ceiling speakers?

The reason I am asking is I may have just 'accidentally' purchased a Denon X6300H and with that comes my first time being able to use ATMOS. Since I have Axiom already it seems logical to look there for options. It appears the M3 is the only option that offer right now.

For reference I have M60's, a VP150, and 4 QS8's (all close to 10 years old). I would imagine these newer speakers sound different from mine but I would also imagine they would still be the closest match.

Since they are the only option at Axiom I thought I'd ask here first. I mean what is Axiom gonna tell me? They won't work and therefor won't get a sale??? :)

I haven’t heard the speakers, but all the ones you mentioned appear to have the same tweeter and a variation of the same woofer. The webpage for the M3 claims it has the same woofer and tweeter as their other speakers, so there isn’t any reason why it wouldn’t be a good timbre match and work well with your existing speakers.

Thanks Wayne. I was thinking the same and since they seem to be pretty much what I'm looking for I'm going to give it shot.

David - Up until recently I had pure 7.1 Axiom setup but wanted to add support for ATMOS. I originally was considering adding 4 M3 speakers but the way my room ceiling is arranged due to duct work made it a bit of a non starter. I opted for a pair of upward firing Klipsch ATMOS speakers (these sit on the front M60s) which have worked very well. I would have bought another pair but there is no place to place them on QS8s as I am sure you are fully aware. My first demo disc was Blade Runner - awesome!

Please let us know how things work out!

Thanks Shakeel, I may try the Klipsh up front as well. They're in the same price range as the Axioms but with much less effort to install. Then I may still get the Axioms if I'm impressed enough with the ATMOS sound.

David - We have Klipsch Heritage, Klipsch Reference and several different Axiom speakers, including cabinet M3's and a VP150. Based on what we have here, the M3's or Klipsch will both work well for your goals. Both companies make excellent, neutral speakers. The ease of use for the Klipsch is a real plus.

We are currently running an Axiom VP180 HP with a pair of Klipsch LaScalas as the LCR for one of our theaters, and the combo is terrific.
