I currently own an HK325 and an HK PA5800 5 Channel Amp. Since I have not had the time to do an official test, would anyone know if I would benefit from using the external amp vs. the onboard amps of the 325. Any input, opinions, theories etc. would be greatly appreciate. By the way I am running Paradigm monitor series with an SVS sub.

Rather than "an official test", why not run your rig for a week with and then a week without the outboard amplification. See if either setup makes you happier.

I think you learn a lot more about your taste/distaste for a particular configuration by spending some extended time with it, as opposed to an ABX test which might only last a few minutes. It's pretty easy to convince yourself of just about anything by a brief comparison test, blinded or not.
