Just bought the avr 510 by Harmon Kardon and wondering which cables I need to hook up a progressive scan DVD, a VCR, My 5 surround speakers, my subwoofer, and what cable(wiring) is needed when connecting to a sattelite dish system? My TV is an older model 27" Toshiba .Will be replacing that in the near future. Thanks for any help.

I'll assume your TV has an S-Video input.

DVD - S-Video to the AVR510; S-Video from the 510 to the TV. Coaxial or Optical digital audio cable

VCR - Composite video cable to Radio Shack composite->S-Video adapter (#15-1238). S-Video cable from adapter to AVR510. Stereo patch cable for audio to AVR510.

Surround speakers: speaker wire!

Subwoofer: One audio patch cable, ideally into a Y-adapter feeding both the left and right inputs of your sub. Also look for cables sold specifically for subwoofers.

Satellite: S-Video to AVR510. Audio depends on satellite receiver used (either stereo patch cords or digital audio).
