This AVR 391 is kicking my backside. I wanted a simple set up to watch tv on So i bought edifier T5 for a sub woofer I went in turned on sw on then i turned lfe to lfe plus I am still not getting any sound out of it. i set the hrtz to 120 What am i over looking on this i have two rca cables coming in to the reciver from the tv. Then i have a single rca cable to the in on the sub. Has any one else had this issue?

It just hit me.

It sounds like you are using analog audio out (two RCA cables) from the TV. The receiver can't do bass management from an analog source. Your TV should have a digital optical output, unless it's extremely old. Connect that to the digital optical input on the receiver (you'll need an optical cable), make sure the receiver audio setup is configured to get TV audio from the optical input, and you should be good to go.

Something else occurred to me. Maybe you have the sub signal from the 391 set too low to activate the sub. Crank up the level from the 391, and reduce the gain control on the sub to compensate.

Oh yes, and make sure the sub is set to turn on with an active signal (if it has options for power).
