I figured it was around $15, so I checked DVD Profiler this morning, and the exact average is $15.23. With taxes and shipping added in, this probably goes up to about $16.50. I look for coupons & bargains, and have bought quite a few from Ebay and used shops.

Oh good, I can be the first Whinging Pom on this thread. You guys don't know you're born over there in the USA - I had to sell two of the kids to put a down-payment on the Harry Potter disc, etc, etc.
Seriously folks - maximum of 10 pounds (c. 14 USD) for most back catalogue stuff (either mail order or second-hand/sales items from shops) and no more than 15 pounds (c. 20 USD) for a new title. Prices are a little higher in the UK and we don't have a lot of the discount deals you seem to enjoy in the States.
Any forum members touched by the sad plight of us impoverished Brits can send donations to me, which I'll ensure are put to good use.:D

$13.22, fully loaded (i.e. including tax and/or shipping)

That is skewed though because it's the average over 5 years. Back in the old days, we were getting 3 for $1, and Reel.com was also just awesome. These days, I'd say I'm paying about $18-19 per disc, and that average of $13.22 has been creeping up and up over the last 18 months or so...

Regards,

Dan

My average is a little higher: $17.11 in 79 purchases (2 used)

However, I did not start collecting until the middle of '99 so I missed a lot of the online coupons, and being in a college dorm without a car, have not been able to take advantage of many first week deals.

With taxes and everything figured in, mine comes to around $13.00 per DVD in a collection of 203. Maybe just slightly less. Columbia House has lowered the high average I started out with from paying full price for a few mainstream titles a great deal.

   Andrew, I'm touched...especially by the sale of your two kids. I'd like to donate my original copy of "Usual Suspects" to your cause. (No, not the Special Edition ) Don't mind Region 1, do you???
