    Hi all-
Anyone know when the xxHX81s will be available (or if they already are).
If they are available - any idea where they can be purchased?
If they aren't available - any idea when they will be?
    Thanks!

Supposedly mid September to October depending on the model and these will generally only be sold in the more upscale retailers (i.e. no Best Buy).

    Thanks for the reply...
Think they'll have any internet retailers (i.e. Onecall)?
I just started following the Toshiba line, and I really like the 57H81, but am concerned about the reflective screen (the TV will be perpendicular to a big sliding glass door).
I think I'm willing to spend ~$500 more for the 57hx81 just for the reduced glare... if it really makes a difference.
Has anyone seen the two together? Is there a big difference? Is it worth my time and money to wait?
    Thanks!

This kind of thing in and of itself makes me suspicious of the value in going with the higher cost unit. After all, why spend an extra $400 if the picture looks just as good on the lower priced one? Maybe the reality is that there will be little discernable difference.

Guys: the HX series is supposed to have improved optics, lenses and software in addition to the non-glare screen. If the screen is anything like the non-glare screen on the new Mitsu 908 series TVs, it will be well worth the additional $350 or so bucks.... trust me on that... or just wait and see for your self!

Fine but why not allow stores to carry these sets next to each other?

Again, thanks all for the replies... I think I'm going to wait for the HX and do my own comparison. It's tough though... already have a big blank spot in my room reserved for it... next two months are going to be pretty boring.
Now that said, how "bad" is the current screen on the H71? Any owners out there care to comment?
Normally I view in the eves with little ambient light, but occasionally during the day for sports (and the wife & kid watch during the day).
Anyone who has one, how would you rate it:
    - glare on screen is hardly an issue in most cases
    - glare on screen can be a problem in some lighting conditions, but is not a big deal
    - glare causes pretty bad problems when there's a lot of ambient light or reflecting light sources, but is fine in low levels
    - glare is a big problem, I have (or will) be removing the screen
Removing the screen is not an option for me, as I have a 1 1/2 year old who loves to touch everything with sticky fingers...
Again, thanks all, you've been a great help.

ps. if anyone has a more precise date than Sept/Oct... I'd appreciate it
