I am just wondering how well the AV12 works for automotive use? I just bought a new car and I am considering using one in a sealed box. Thanks for any info

It'll work great because it doesn't need too big of a box, and it should sound just as good in a car as a HT. You'll also get some cabin gain (added sound pressure due to the smaller volume of a car).

A benefit is you won't get boomy bass like some of the other mainstream car audio drivers, and the driver will be able to hit deep and loud.

just ordered two not to long ago. planning 35L sealed, each with 500watts a piece. Or a single ported with a 4 inch flared port tuned to 23hz and 80L

Thanks for the encouraging info I just may have to do it. So for a single 12 about 17-18L sealed would work well? Also what about power around 300-500 watts? What would in car response be? about 25-200hz or better?

I am going to go 35litre heavy fill. should give me a qtc of around .6 . anywhere from 300watts to 500watts should be plenty. my credit card just got billed too. $497 plus taxes for two for all you Canadians at the pre-ordered price. figure another $25 per woofer now the sale is over.

Cool, I'll have to do some plugging in WinISD, I am looking at a low Q setup, aroun .5-.55 to give me some nice tight bass.

So, you can see in good company, the AV12 does QUITE WELL. I would wholeheartedly suggest this guy at $140 or even $165. One hell of a deal.

Note: all of this testing was done in the same vehicle and only our ears were the judge...but we all left quite impressed with Stryke Audio

Good luck chosing and keep us updated
