It's pretty big news here in the Bay Area. And so young too [IMG] Apparently she has been suffering from depression for the past couple of years.

I read "Rape of Nanjing" and I will second the recommendation. I believe the book is banned in Japan.

it's hard to feel bad for someone who's putting their families through so much pain.

I think most people who commit suicide are often in too much pain to think of anyone else. They are very sick people who commit their final act out of desperation.

Considering the subject matter of "Rape of Nanking" and another incident mentioned in this (long) interview ( http://www.identitytheory.com/interv...rnbaum109.html ), I wonder if those events were a trigger for her depression (or made it worse). But I guess we'll never know.

    No matter...it is still sad.
