Wish I could of hosted some poker earlier this month but my schedule didn;t allow me any openings until next weekend.
1st - weekend in Jan - New years
2nd - vacation to Puerto Rico
3rd - " " " "
4th - work stuff and parents in town
5th - ah finally some poker

Plus with my luck lately everytime I have tried to throw a game together with only a week or two warning I have had to cancel due to no attendance. I am thrilled that this time we are full and as luck would have it we filled up 2 1/2 wweks in advance.

I am still very much hoping to attend Saturday, but I threw out my back this weekend and have been mostly stuck on my backside since Monday. I am now on Vicodin and perscription strength Ibuprofin so if I go "All In" holding 2-7 off-suit... try not to laugh. :b

Yeah those pain pills must be getting to you, as you seem to still not be straight on the date. The 27th is Friday, as in tomorrow, not Saturday.

Mark, feel free to bring your dog as the yard has dried up again since the rain this past weekend.

I will see you guys tomorrow.

If you want to bring anything - limes, tonic water, and coke or any other drink mixers you need for your drink of choice are what we could use some of.

Alchohol I have plenty of as I brought back like 6 bottle from Puerto Rico.

Unfortunately it looks like I am going to be working late tonight, so I am probably not going to make it.

Scott, thanks for hosting such a nice game, and please thank Maria for putting up with our nonsense. :)

Unfortunately, my back has only gotten worse so I may be having to go in for an MRI next week. Wish me luck! :frowning:

Ditto on the thanks, Nils.

Great game, great company....and I'd say that even if I didn't hit a four outer on the river to save me from losing $30...

Just as a heads up to all the poker enthusiasts in the group. Tonight is the regular night for High Stakes Poker on GSN (the GameShowNetwork). There's a new episode at 8:00 and last week's episode at 9:00 immediately following. Why in the world they don't show the rerun, then the new episode, I have no idea. So, if anyone is interested, check it out. Good stuff. And if you're going to record it, watch the 9:00 show first, which will lead into the 8:00.

Peace out!

Just FYI for anyone interested in those chips, you can't get them at the store, only online. I went over there last night to get them and they don't carry any poker chips at all in the store right now. They don't even show up in their computer's database.

An even better deal!

Assuming you want a better quality chip.

Personal Poker Chips

They are having a sale on all NexGen chips. NexGen chips are bascially considered the best clay composite chip on the market. They normally retail for somewhere between $.50-$.60 per chip, but this sale has them down to $.14-$.17 per chip. Umm, can you say good deal!

This guy also does personalized labels, although looks like you have to apply them, but the price to 500 chips is only 50 bucks.

Edit: Ok maybe I might have been wrong on the typical pricing of these chips as http://www.apachepokerchips.com/
have NexGens for a very good price as well and someone else mentioned being able to find them online for as low as $.12 each. But most still recommend Personal Poker chips as the best place to buy from.

Ok I am going to post some other good finds.

http://www.cardroomsupply.com/cardroomsupply/
These guys have Chipco Club Desperado chips on sale for $.66 each, so about 33% off.

http://www.spinettis.com/shop/item.a...d=203&catid=30
no pretty edge spots but supposedly a nice chip Turf Clubs for $.65 each.

http://nevadajacks.net/
These guys also have some nice looking higher quality for about a $.50 pricing per chip.

They also are the exclusive retailer for those American Beauties chips that I posted about sometime ago, which supposedly just received a write up in Playboy March 2006 edition.

So check these out. 1000 PURE CLAY chips for $87 shipped.

I'm 90% certain those Cosco chips are clay composite or ABS. The only thing I wonder is if pure clay chips are really a good idea for casual use. Would they be durable enough?

These are made by Blue Chip and have been available only in sample sets. For $37 shipped you'll get 26 chips: 5x ($1, $5, $10, $25, $100), plus 1 bonus $500 chip.

[/c]

They are almost done with the entire series which will go as high as a $100,000 chip design.

Well buy them already so we can play with them! ;)

Personally, while they are nice to look at, not sure I'd want to use them in a game.

I'd recommend buying a sample set of any chip design before pulling the trigger, especially if they are over $.25 a chip. Chips can look great from pics, but in play they can have a feel and or sound that you might not like.

Scott, or anyone else, if you come across a site or eBay listing that sells those Casino style cube acrylic cases like the one included in the set listed on Costco's website please post a link here. The best deal I've found for that style case with the 10 trays is about $45 shipped.
