The months of waiting and anticipation are finally over...
The Austin Home Theater Meet pictures are now on-line, awaiting your perusal. Pictures and write-ups are there for the first meet in the fall of 2000, the Do-It-Yourself Topic Meet (03/16/2002), and last Saturday's Projector Shootout Meet (05/11/2002).

One more thing - if you're in one of the pictures but I didn't remember your name, please E-mail me so I can update the site accordingly...

Great work Collin! That went straight to my favorites list. I really appreciate the hard work you did putting that site together. We owe it to ourselves to keep adding to that page with more great meets.

And to anyone who thinks about coming to one of these meets, please do. Even if your just a little curious, give it a try. I have yet to meet someone at these events that wasn't a genuinely nice person. I feel I have made some good friends that have my same interest, not just home theater.

Hey anybody going to Attack of the Clones, Wed. at midnight at the Metropolitan. Let me know I'll look for you.

Colin, you did good. One thing though, the meet listed as "First Ever" was actually the third or fourth meet. However, it was the first meet with both the HTF group and the AVS group combined.
Are you going to add the pictures that I gave you of the meet held at my place?
Also, for all you out there who are wondering what happened to the rattlesnake, he has been relocated to the Balconies Canyon Wildlife Preserve and is doing well.:emoji_thumbsup:
My foreign exchange student wanted to know why I called it a "he" instead of a "she" and I told her that I assumed it was a "he" as I was not going to check to see which was which (you look at the underside of the tail to determine the sex) and I wasn't going to get THAT close.:b

Frederick -

I'll add those pictures as soon as I can get them scanned. Don't have a flatbed scanner, so I'm trying to find a system that has one so I can scan in the pictures, crop/downsize/compress them, and add them to the page.

Unfortunately, I don't remember much of any meets before the big AVS/HTF meet ... but this evening I'll make corrections to the site (finding another name for the "first" meet, attributing the Adcom amp and InFocus projector to Mark instead of Scott, etc.).

Thanks for all the corrections. The details went fuzzy in my brain after waiting several months to write about the earlier meets...

All the new information has been worked into the pages.

Already, I am approaching Road Runner's no-additional-charge space limit of 5MB. Anyone know of other free/cheap Web hosting alternatives that could bump me up into the 10-20MB range, so this site has room to grow???

Ahh...a day of vacation. Steve Martin just arrived and has started an ISF calibration of my RPTV. And, DHL just delivered my Outlaw Audio 950 pre/pro! BTW, Danny will arrive about 5 pm. The line sources should be singing tomorrow morning.

Jonathan, the FSV adhesive arrived. YGM

Not just Hank... My last final was on Monday, and I don't start back to work until next Tuesday.... One full week of DIY Speakerbuilding! I've got a 6 channel home theater system gluing up on the back porch right now.

Just updated the site with a few more corrections. Found out someone's name, and corrected the identity of the sub amp...

If you know anyone who I have listed as "name unknown," please let me know who they are. I'm unfortunately not the best at remembering names...

Mark - if that 6.1 system turns out good, you may have to host the next meet...
