I have a 16:9 television and a Panasonic RP91 that scalesnon-anamorphic discs...this is the first disc i've tried scaling that has subtitles, and a good bit of them seem cut off.

    1) is there a way to "move" the subtitles up? they seem player generated.

    2) is there any setting on the RP91 to work around this?

PS - there doesn't seem to be any close captioning for my TV to generate subtitles.

    thanks

You can shift the image up. Is in one of the 'display' menus. Check the manual for which 'icon' it is.

but for a non-anamorphic 1.85:1 dvd, i'd be losing a whole lot of image on the top, right?

i think for now i'm resigned to watching it windowboxed on all 4 sides on my 38" 16:9 via my rp91 - it keeps the OAR, and the image is still bigger than it would be on my 27" tv upstairs which is 4:3.
