I noticed tonight that the DTS track of Moulin Rouge is about a quarter of second out of sync (behind) when playing progressive scan video on my Marantz SR8200 and Panny RP56.

Anyone else notice audio sync problems with Marantz receivers or with this DVD?

Is this likely to be DVD software problem or a problem with the receiver?

I am starting to very much regret the fact that I cannot return this puppy.

Also, FYI according to the Marantz dealer:

    1) Marantz will be releasing a firmware upgrade for the receiver in about a month. It will fix the EX bit flag problems on Dolby EX soundtracks. Apparently these things can wig out, though I have not played a Dolby EX DVD that has this flag improperly set, so I have not yet seen how the receiver reacts.

    2) Marantz will be releasing a firmware upgrade for the remote in a couple weeks. This is supposed to fix the extremely annoying and debilitating IR learning problems.

Why don't you test the DVD straight through the TV inputs off of the Panny?

This may confirm if it's the A/V or eliminate it...

(then it's down to the player or the DVD)

The DTS snyc has been noted as an issue over here in the UK - and I have this exact problem with the R1 release on my Panny RV60. I use an SR7200 amp BUT it did exactly the same thing with my old Yamaha DSP-A5 amp, so here I think it's the disc and not the amp or player at fault.
