    hey.

i saw the replacement killers when it was first released on video and remember loving it. i want to buy the dvd, and only really care about the video and audio on this particular release. how do they compare to each other? is there a big difference? im not the one to buy regular editions over special editions, but i am willing to make an exception and save the 10 bucks. thanks for your help.

Pretty much the transfers are identical. There are a few quirks in the video that I noticed on the first one that are present in the SE version. I haven't done a full A/B for the sound, but it was good in the first release and good in the second. I would guess it's the same.

The extra features are the only difference, IMO.

Transfers are identical? Are they both anamorphic? I read on the cover that the new one is but I remember the old one being non-anamorphic. Am I incorrect?

They have the same video transfers.

A lot of earlier Columbia Tri-Star Home Entertainment DVDs omitted the notations for 16:9 enhancement.

The old one was a double-sided single-layer disc with an anamorphic transfer on one side and a P&S on the other. The new disc is a single-sided dual-layer disc with an anamorphic transfer and some extras.
