im looking for an audio receiver that doesnt have a fixed configuration of speaker placement but rather a placement that can vary by just changing a setting
the scenario is that there are really 2 positions in which i listen to audio
one being sitting at my desk, another being on my bed
speakers from my desk that should be front should not be fronts for when im on my bed

so are there any recievers that allow me to change which speakers are front, rear, etc etc without manually switching cables?

thanks

Damn

Any suggestions on how to make (or buy) a device that could switch speakers around how I want?

Hmmm, Denons sort of do this with the surrounds only...

A and B connections allow a different A set for sources and a different B set for other sources.

I thought that is what he was asking????
Of course they require their own set of speakers....

In a re-read, he wants to be able to re-assign the amps in his reciever to whatever duty he wants????

I never tried it with any reciever or amp that is for sure.

I don't think I am getting exactly what he is try'n to achieve.

Here's a rather crude sketch of what I'm trying to accomplish
There's two positions in which I will be listening to music or watching a movie. Either positioned on the bed or at my desk. "B" represents bed and "D" represents desk. "FR" represents front right, "RL" represents rear left, and so on and so forth.

(add the necessary http to the url, i cant officially post urls yet)

So I want different speaker assignments depending on where I am situated in the room so that sound is properly placed (having fronts where rears should be just doesn't work out).
