I am trying to set up my new dvd player, I have connected the digital audio output to my Teac PowerMax 1000 using an Accoustic Research "Y" splitter (the dvd player only has one coaxial output and the PM1000 has two imputs), I have set the dvd to pcm mode, and the only sound I get is very quite and distorted. I connected the dvd to my hifi and I got the same problem.

Do you think that the dvd is faulty, or is there some imcompatability problem with the two units. I phoned the manufacturer (Medeon) and they were hopeless.

    Best regards

    Gary,

You can’t send a digital output to an analog input. Use the DVD player’s white and red RCA jacks and you should be in business.
