I just came across this announcing the passing of David Hafler. What an audio pioneer, from the Dynaco ST70 to the QD-1 Quadaptor.

    RIP

A sad loss of a great audio pioneer. I had an SCA-35 Amp, Dynatuner, pair of A-25 and pair of A-35 speakers. All of this was excellent stuff.

Like other recent departures, including Paul Klipsch and Henry Knoss, he will be missed.

When I DJ'd the Club I worked at had all Hafler Pro amplifiers those things ran incredibly great never had any issues with them. Sad to see someone who has made such high quality stuff leave us.

    RIP

Kloss, Hafler, Klipsch et.al. – where would American audio be without the Germans? [IMG]

This is the first I’ve heard about Klipsch. I knew he was really old, but when did he pass away?

    Regards,

    Rich:

I beg to differ, I believe the biggest ethnicity group in the nation is British/ Irish/ Scottish.

Yes, the Germanic invasion of england in the 5th century, along with the Angles and Jutes ruled the country, until the Norman invasion (i think in the 12th century)!

I guess you are right, founding fathers from England were hybrid Anglo- Germans, or better known as Anglo-Saxon.

I'm Spanish, which is a combo of Norman, Greek, Phoenician, Arab, Roman, many Mediterranean tribes, and who knows what else. It's like having a hybrid amp with Kt-88, El -34 along with Bi-Polar and Mosfets in the same circuit.

By the way, many of my friends have bi-polar circuits in their brains!!!

    Just having some fun...

Hafler, Kloss, Klipsh will all be missed. Godspeed!

Well, regardless of which caucasian European country has the greatest percentage of
immigrants to this country over the last several centuries, they're all mostly Israelites.
So it's the same people. [IMG]

David Hafler specialized in bringing consumers a big taste of high-end sound at low prices. His Dynaco line, available both in ready-made and kit form, was a pioneer in this high-performance at affordable prices segment. He did it once again with the Hafler brand of simple preamps and MOSFET power amps. Today, this segment is populated by Adcom, Parasound, Rotel, and others.

Thank you, Mr. Hafler, for your initial MOSFET power amp (I'm struggling to remember the model number--DH-200?). It sold like crazy. I purchased one when it first came out and it provided many hours of enjoyable music. (If only the transformer didn't hum in the chassis!)

Audio hobbyists will certainly remember and miss you.

I had the DH22o for awhile and it was a great little amp that in hindsight I should have kept.
