I have a Toshiba 2710 hooked up to a Marantz 5200, and when I pause the DVD, and then hit play, the video starts right away and the audio is delayed a short while (less than 1 second). I am new to DVD's and Home Theatre, but is this normal, or a problem with the player, or the receiver? What causes this?

Greg,

The audio format needs to get redetected by the receiver before the receiver can decode the audio once again. This takes about 1 second as you've noticed.....

Nothing really to do about it, except be patient.

FWIW, I have a Panasonic RV-31 and it does not seem to have a pause before the audio starts to play after the video. It probably is just your model of player.
