audio distrobution (1 Viewer)

Is thier anything that can take the optical input and rca inputs of source (i.e. a dvd player) and distribute them into a 6.1 channel pre-outs for amps? I'm looking at other choices besides a reciever because I don't need anything for video, just audio.

Probably not. Your best bet is probably to look for an old Dolby Digital decoder. They were pretty common in the early days of DVD – many receivers required an external decoder. However, it may not have a volume control.
