My father has this EQ. It's a graphic unit with 10-bands. And, when boosting the gain on the lower frequencies, it makes the music sound like, well, poo. The bass is loose and very boomy. My IMP-400 sounds tight and like a punch in the chest (To the extent that headphones give) with teh bass boosted 12 db. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    Jonathan,

The C-101 is probably the best equalizer of it’s type on the market. Aside from that, however, your question is pretty vague.

If you don’t like the way the boost makes your headphones sound, then why do it? Or are you talking about the way it makes your speakers sound compared to your headphones?

    See what I mean?

    Regards,

Wayne, um, wow, I didn't know it was that good. I meant the way the music sounded using my headphones both before and after equlization. Although, I think my headphones are the culprit, I need to replace them with a decent pair as they are failing me. I'll repost then about what I think.
