Well since Dustin said that I "suck" and Rob pleaded with Dan to get me my FREE Adire Audio LCC kit which I WON from a contest on another forum so that I would finally shut up I just wanted to let you two guys know that it arrived yesterday! NYA NYA NYA NYA NYA! [IMG]
I looked through the parts quickly late last night and I must say I'm thoroughly impressed with the build quality of the AV8 and the new AV5 drivers!
I can't wait to get this bad boy built and fire it up!!

    Hey Dustin,
When are you gonna get a job, ditch those JBL's, and build some real speakers?! [IMG]

    [IMG] Here we go again....
Yes it's a very nice kit. It's a monster though.
So who's going to get theirs done 1st? Me or Brian?
I'll cry is he somehow wins a pair of 281s to go along with it.
Congradulate or curse? Congrats for winning goes to Brian, curses to us for hearing about it!

I'm trying Brian, I'm trying. Programming market just isn't what it used to be. Where the hell are all these bioinformatics jobs I keep hearing about in the news. I got the damn bio degree along with the comp sci one :p)
PS- But even after I get a job I imagine it will be at least 1.5-2 years before I get to build new speakers [IMG]

    Rob,

Unfortunately you'll probably win that race. I've got a decent money making project that's going to consume a lot of my time over the next few months so that will take priority!

In that case I'm sure Dustin wouldn't mind getting your LCC. Take some pity on the guy - he doens't have a job, he has 2 good degrees and he lives in Sasquatch Canada [IMG] I'm sure you'll make enough money on those Alphas to buy another LCC. I think w/ the taxes in Canada any donation you do could be considered non-profit and charitable.
I couldn't find a can of worms smiley...

    Rob,
I think giving Dustin the LCC would just tempt him to build the 281's, which he can't afford since he doesn't have a job! That would just be cruel of me!
Also, it's hard to take pity on a computer gee...I mean programmer. [IMG]
And to think, I don't even need a new center channel...

Hey watch it! - There's a few computer gee...s on here. These forums wouldn't exist if it weren't for us geeks.
I'm sure he could scrape up enough $$(well it's $$$$$$$ in Canadian) to get some 81s.
I think Dustin needs to move to the US [IMG] where there are jobs and they don't take away 1/2 your money in taxes - only a 1/3. I guess that's enough picking on the Canadians [IMG]

    Brian,
That IS a sweet kit isn't it... Mine is sitting in the floor next to my RPTV as a reminder that I need to build it soon! [IMG]
As soon as I get the flexirack, DVD storage.... etc, etc. built, I can move on to the LCC, 4 281s, and the Tempest sub... Have got wayyyyy to many project materials and not enough time to build them all. [IMG]

If I don't have a job by mid fall, then I'll really be starting to get worried. But there is one other fall back that I've started this past week that has the potential to do well, I just have to finish writing it [IMG]

Brian, lemme know when it's done, I'd like to hear it (need a reference point or two) and compare it to my homebrew stuff.

    Rob,
Computer geek is a term of endearment!

For those late in the game, the speakers will be nekkid, not I (and hopefully, not Brian either)!

I'm sure it is a term of endearment coming from someone who watches T1's all day trying to figure out what part of the country to shut down.

I'll be doing the same type of Pat's special nekid finish on my 281s and A/V's for a while too. Maybe no finish IS a finish?! Sort of like not making a decision is a decision itself.

    Rob,
I only take down T1's in Georgia. Maybe a T3 every now and then. Hey, that gives me an idea! That would be a perfect way to get to build speakers full time!
If Pat pisses me off I might just take out his internet connection! [IMG]

For the record www.nekidspeakers.com is available! At least it was at 2:55pm today. I didn't think there were any good domains left anymore.
You have t3's to play with? Yikes. I'm sure they'd let you build speakers full time if you pulled a few of those. I'd hold out for the severance package though.
Now if you pulled the plugs on those lines nekid I'm sure you'd make the papers too! What's better than free advertising!?
