The only versions of the trilogy you must own are the "Faces" THX movie only discs.
I agree. I was so confused earlier as to which version because I didn't realize the Definitive Collection was different from the Special Edition. If I'm going to go the laserdisc route, I want only the original theatrical versions, so the Special Editions are out. Side breaks every 30 minutes? No thanks. "Faces" THX versions for me it is.
So now I just have to figure out if it's worth it to spend at least $150 just to be able to watch Star Wars on LD (because I highly doubt I would buy anything else). I am a fan of SW, but not a die-hard fan. I do like buying heavy electronics, though. :)
