Los Angeles, Ca- The Vista Theatre, a picturesque restored, Egyptian-styled movie palace is thrilled to announce a special one-time charity event screening of the MGM motion picture ‘NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS.’
The event will be held on October 25, 2001 starting at 7:30 PM. A special handprints-in-cement ceremony starts the festivities. The stars of ‘NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS’ will leave their ‘mark’ on a cement tablet in the theatre forecourt to commemorate the event. Afterwards is a charity auction of ‘Dark Shadows’ memorabilia followed by a rare screening of a pristine 35mm print of the film ‘NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS.’ After the film will be a Q & A about the ongoing restoration effort with film historian Darren Gross. An autograph session with the stars will follow.
Confirmed guests at presstime are stars DAVID SELBY (‘Falcon Crest’), LARA PARKER (‘Kolchak: The Night Stalker’), NANCY BARRETT (‘One Life to Live’), CHRIS PENNOCK (‘Guiding Light’), JAMES STORM (‘The Bold and the Beautiful’), JOHN KARLEN (‘Cagney and Lacey’), DIANA MILLAY (‘Secret Storm’). Other surprise guests to be announced!
Tickets are $15.00 each and include admission to all events, a commemorative program booklet, popcorn and soda. Exclusive ‘30th Anniversary NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS T-Shirts’ will be available for sale. All proceeds for the event go to benefit the ‘Women’s Care Cottage’ a charitable Los Angeles foundation that benefits homeless women.
Tickets may be purchased at the theatre box office at 4473 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. Event updates can also be found at www.nightofdarkshadows.com.
‘NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS,’ originally released in 1971, is the second film incarnation of the ‘Dark Shadows’ TV series. Produced and Directed by series creator Dan Curtis, ‘NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS’ stars series regulars, David Selby, Kate Jackson, Lara Parker, Nancy Barrett, Grayson Hall, John Karlen, Diana Millay and Chris Pennock in a tale of haunted houses and ghostly possession in New England. The screenplay is by Sam Hall. The legendary daytime drama ‘Dark Shadows’ (1966-1971) was the only soap opera to ever spawn a feature film series.
Last year, the Vista Theatre celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the first ‘Dark Shadows’ spin-off film, “House of Dark Shadows” with a highly successful, sold-out charity event. Featuring state-of-the-art projection and sound, the Vista Theatre is a Hollywood landmark that has been an integral part of the Hollywood landscape since 1923. It was restored in 1999 and has hosted several revival and ‘event screenings.’

Damn I wish I was in LA! I feel Night Of Dark Shadows pales in comparison to House Of Dark Shadows. Regardless, I would love both on DVD. :)
