There is a new show beginning tomorrow on Canada's TVTropolis (formerly Prime) called "Fanatical". It's a documentary style show that follows around obsessed fans of TV shows ranging from classics like Bewitched to modern day like the Simpsons. It airs at 7 PM ET/PT on Tuesday, September 19.

I don't live in Canada but I would love to hear what the show is like! Hopefully someone will put the episodes on YouTube.

So I guess nobody watched it[IMG] It was even about 1966 Batman fans and I was sure people here at HTF would be interested in that since that series is one of the most wanted on DVD...

...anyway, I was wondering if one of you Canadians could watch it tonight and give a review...their website still shows Batman and doesn't say what TV show is going to be spotlighted tonight but I would love to know. Thanks!

Hey, maybe I'm the only two watching it.
Last night was "The Dukes of Hazzard" featuring a couple of FANs' collections of memorabilia and a couple of fans' General Lee replicas, culminating in a Dukes of Hazzard convention attended by the featured FANs.

"It's like a Star Trek convention with less costumes."

Although, to be fair, what they lacked in costumes, they made up for with the incredible number of General Lee clones that showed up!

I laughed when one FAN told another, "They found General Lee #2 in a dump in Atlanta (or wherever)" I laughed because not 20 minutes earlier I had told my wife that they might have found another long-lost reel of Censored Doctor Who Clips in Australia.

Conclusion: she's happy that I'm a Doctor Who FANatic rather than a Dukes of Hazzard FANatic.

They have a Dalek in their opening credits, so I'm awaiting the Doctor Who episode.

Misha, thank you for your review! I really wish this show would air in the US as I love seeing fans of other shows memorabilia and their love for their TV show.

So did it seem like they were making fun of these people or was it presented in a good light? I only ask cause I may be on the episode about Bewitched because they were filming while a small group of us were attending a Bewitched convention in Salem, Mass during the summer.

It's bizarre that I can't seem to find out information ahead of time.

It was "Queer as Folk" (US Version)

Interesting...I can't imagine fans of "Queer as Folk" having conventions or even there being memorabilia...of course, I've only heard of the show and never watched it....

I wish TvTropolis.com would update their site each week with a clip from that week's show like they did with Batman.

I can't wait to hear about how next week's show goes!

It is surprising to me how little information is available about this show.

It would be nice to see a list of past episodes that is regularly updated.

If you are in Canada and are watching this, please keep us informed!

Maxcat, I thought I had posted this link before but I guess not.

Someone over on the Batman message boards posted a link to download the Batman related episode, which was the first one aired.

It's really cool and well done!

I'm also surprised by the lack of info on this show. All the Canadian Bewitched fans who saw that episode said it was really great!

Here is an episode listing that I know of so far. The subject of the episode is listed.

    Episode 1: Batman 9/19/06
    2: Dukes of Hazzard 9/26/06
    3: Queer as Folk 10/3/06
    4: Bewitched 10/10/06

I haven't heard as to what aired last week or yesterday though.

EDIT: I just heard that last week was a reairing of the Batman episode and last night's was a reairing of the Dukes of Hazzard episode.

I've started a Wikipedia entry for this show and am updating whenever a new episode airs.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FANatical

They started re-running the first 4 after their initial airing, so I think we have a couple more weeks before we get a new one.

I received a copy of the Bewitched show yesterday and I LOVED IT!!!!

The show focused on two fans, Mark Simpson (Tacoma, WA) who is known to Bewitched fans as The Bewitched Collector. He most certainly lives up to his name as his entire third floor of his house is painted like the cartoon opening and he has shelves upon shelves of collectibles from all over the world. They also showed he and his roommates installing a replica of 1164's door on their house.

The other person was Gina Meyers (Fresno, CA). She is the author of "The Magic of Bewitched Trivia and More". She has a very small collection but she seems to love the show. I do have to say that the book she wrote isn't as good as it should be as there are many factual errors and it is in need of a good editing job.

The show also focused on the Bewitched Convention that was held this past summer in Salem, MA. I'm seen in a few scenes as I attended.

All in all, I really liked how this was put together!

Thanks for the update! I would love to see that airing. It sounds like no new episodes have been aired in quite a while - I wonder if it has been cancelled.

I haven't heard any more about any other episodes...I hope it hasn't been cancelled cause I heard there was going to be one about Family Guy which I really wanted to see.

I tried to upload the video to the net but I can't figure it out[IMG]

So I did the next best thing and made a slide show[IMG]

Cool! Thanks for the slide show!!

I hope we hear about new episodes soon. I did manage to find a press release dated November 6th, called
WONDER WOMAN DAY" EVENT & AUCTION RAISES OVER $15,000 FOR CHARITY
that states that the event was filmed for a 2007 FANatical show, so hopefully the show is going to resume soon! I also read something about a Simpsons episode on Toronto Mike's Blog - he was in conversations as of October 25 to be filmed by them.
