This may sound like a stupid question , but i need some help attaching speaker cable to banana plugs i bought. I got the gold plated RadioShack bananas (the ones that come as two pairs in one little box, around $9.99 CDN).

I am using 12g speaker cable but the the banana passage is sligthly larger than the diameter of the cable. So how do i make a secure connection, without soldering?

    Thanks in advance...:b

If you have the compression type bananas just screw the back part off the plug end, slip your wire in enough to stick out the compression end, fold over the wires and then screw the plug end back on. This should make them a pretty tight connection.
