Hi all,
I'm soon starting renovations, and I'm currently in the process of planning my home theater setup.
I was planning a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup (I currently have a 5.1). I've read a few times that the ideal placement for Atmos should be in the ceiling, but that's not an option since the ceiling is concrete. I also don't like on-ceiling speakers that much unless they are somewhere in the corner.
For Atmos, I plan to use speakers against the wall just below the ceiling, firing down from the sides (angled towards listening position):
I've read that placing them against the side wall might give a more immersive sound compared to Atmos speakers above the front L&R, for example in this video here
Is this setup in any way recommended? If so, should I place the Atmos speakers a bit in front of the listening position, or right next to it?
