I'm thinking about a DIY with the plans that Adire have.

If I go sealed with a 250 watt plate amp...vs...

A bit more money for a passive set up. Is the cost worth it vs say just going sealed with a Tumult? Looks like I could save just a bit under going the Tumult way...anyone with experience in this..I'd appreciate a reply. [IMG]

If I went the Tumult way, would the box be the same as one for the Tempest? Speaking of the Mid Q design..a 122L cabinet.

If I went the Tumult way, I suppose I'd probalby need to use the 500 watt plate amp?

Thanks in advance for your replies..[IMG]

Dan, how does the Tumult sound with only 250w in a Tempest box? Are you getting much more output than you were with the Tempest?

If you only have 250 watts to power the sub I'd definitely get the Tempest.

My living room size is approx. 200 sqft. My house is an "open" design so you can add the dining and kitchen in for a size of approx. 350 sqft. Having said all that, my Tumult powered with the AVA250 kicks a [IMG] [IMG]

Yah the amp clips when i drive my system too loud but too loud is too loud!!

The Tumult is a better sounding sub compared to the Tempest period.

    Thanks to the responses...

I guess I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do..

That Tempest with 2 pr's looks pretty nice....I was wondering what I'd need to do the same thing with a Tumult. Could it be done right with 2 18 inch PR's? On the other hand, that would start to get pretty expensive.

My other question was about the Tumult, and if it could be used in a 122L cabinet. And if I went that route, should I make it an inch and a half thick? (the cabinet)
