Re: Kandahar's release date:

It was shown at the Toronto Film Festival and then opened in a theater in December 2001.

More than one theater; it had a successful run in late November at three theaters in Vancouver, and also played in Victoria, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax if I'm not mistaken. But it's cool to count it as 2002 down in your parts.
