I pay for HBO via my provider, which has allowed me free access to HBO Now. I’ve looked at HNow as everything currently on HBO and a lot (if not all) of their archival material. That which they are not currently playing on HBO. If that is correct, I will cancel HBO and subscribe to HBO Max.

If this is all true, they’ll have a bunch of subscribers transferring to HMax. That doesn’t seem like a gain for HBO.

I went over to HBOMAX DOT COME and found this:
So I guess this means I have to cancel my xfinity HBO subscription and subscribe to HBO NOW directly with HBO. That seem right.

If I understand it correctly, if I get HBOMAX I get all of HBO plus more stuff. Correct? Are there movies on HBO that MAX won’t get? Or do I get all of HBO?

You may have HBO GO instead of HBO Now. HBO GO is a streaming service available to people who subscribe to HBO through their cable or satellite service. HBO Now is a separate streaming service for cable cutters that allows you to stream HBO content without needing a cable or satellite provider, just internet access.
    Per HBO Now website:

HBO NOW is a standalone streaming service that doesn't require a cable TV package. HBO GO is included with a paid cable TV subscription that has HBO. See below for more comparisons of HBO GO vs. HBO NOW.

Per the website the only difference between Now and Go is if you have cable / satellite service or just internet access. So far to avoid paying more for HBO Max it appears you should drop HBO from your cable/satellite provider and subscriber to HBO NOW directly with HBO.

As mentioned HBO NOW subscribers who are billed directly through HBO will also get access to WarnerMedia's new offering, HBO Max, at launch for no extra cost. I believe this will get you on demand access to HBO programming but not the various HBO channels that you see on cable/satellite . Does HBO Now have live streaming of HBO channel(s)?

They each earn 2% of what the show makes. In 2018 it was estimated they each made $20 million.

I wonder if they earn $$ for all revenue streams of the show? $20 mil each, for one year, for not lifting a finger in that year. Nice work if you can get it.

    From a USA Today article

Separately, WarnerMedia said it reached a deal with Google’s YouTube TV service to offer the upcoming HBO Max as an add-on to YouTube TV’s $50-a-month subscription. It will cost extra, but the price wasn’t immediately disclosed. HBO Max will cost $15 on its own, though some AT&T customers will get it for free. AT&T has said it was working on deals to bundle HBO Max with other companies that offer HBO to their services.

Hopefully that will mean some kind of deal for people who get HBO via cable system not owned by AT&T.

I wonder if HBO Max will show any movie titles that have been released on Blu-ray by Warner Archive? If they do show some titles will they allow the latest transfers to be used on HBO Max? Currently, they do not allow these latest transfers on TCM, iTunes or Vudu. However, this launch is very important to AT&T/Warner's future so perhaps that can come into play here.
