I have searched the web-site a number of times and am having a difficult time selecting a front projector.

I have a 17X14 room in basement and will be using the projector for cable TV, DVD's and Playstation. I would like to have some ambient light and am budgeting $2,500 for the projector.

Looking at: Mitsubishi HC3; NEC LT240K; Toshiba TDPMT5U; and Mitsubishi XD50U.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd throw the Sanyo PLV-Z2 into your mix as well...IMHO it will outperform all of those choices you mentioned.

Just to add to your confusion...[IMG]

If you can stretch the budget a bit or wait a little while for the price to drop the Sony VPL-HS20 seems to be making quite a name for itself in the sub-$3000 market.

    Moved to Displays.

Just to clarify... you want to be able to view a decent image with some ambient light present, right?

I'd suggest that you also look at the BenQ 8220. It puts up well with ambient light and is within your price range.
