assigning optical inputs? (1 Viewer)

i'm in the market for a pioneer elite vsx-45tx (or another $900 receiver) and i saw a picture of the back panel, it said assignable optical inputs, or something of that nature. it had 2 of them i believe. i'd like to know if that is as simple as it sounds, can i just pick which inputs has optical in? i would like to hook up my ps2 into the vcr2, could i assign an optical input to be associated with vcr2? just making sure i am thinking correctly, thats a cool feature if i have it right.

It's easy to set-up on the 45TX. You just goto system set-up and the OSD comes up. One of the options is INPUT ASSIGN. It brings up all 4 inputs and you just select which input you want for each digital in(DVD/LD, TV/SAT, VCR 1, VCR 2, CD, CD-R, and MD are the choices).
