CRIME IS A DISEASE. MEET THE CURE.

Fresh from the global success of Rambo: First Blood Part II, Sylvester Stallone and director George P. Cosmatos re-teamed for the iconic 80s action-thriller Cobra, this time waging a one-man crusade against crime on the streets of Los Angeles.

A crazed killer. A woman in danger. A city in fear. Lt. Marion "Cobra" Cobretti (Stallone) is the man the LAPD calls when standard police procedure isn't enough. Witness to a bloody murder, Ingrid Knudsen (Brigitte Nielsen) finds herself a target and is placed under Cobretti's protection. But repeated attempts on her life lead Cobretti to believe it's not just the work of one lone psycho wreaking bloody havoc across LA, but a murderous cult with plans for a new world order.

An era-defining example of glossy high-octane Hollywood cinema, Cobra arrives on Arrow Video in a sparkling new restoration with a wealth of new and archival extras.

Original lossless stereo 2.0, 4.0 and DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio options
What's that, a 4.0 Mix? you don't get to stumble across these channel mixes on BD/UHDs in recent times.

Does this mean the 2.0 Stereo should be a downmix of the 5.1 mix like the Arrow BD/UHD of the DC of "RoboCop" (which also reworked to stay true to the R-Rated Mix, rather than the 2007 Mix).

My Multi Channel preferences on Audio Sources (not counting remixes or downmixes):

Pre-Dolby Digital/DTS Era:

3.0/3.1: Perspecta/Selected BD/UHD titles with 35mm 4-Track
4.0: 35mm 4-Track/Dolby Stereo/SR or Ultra Stereo?
4.1/5.0: 70mm 6-Track (Mono Surrounds) / 70mm 6-Track Dolby Stereo/SR (Stereo Surrounds)

Modern Age:

5.1: Dolby Digital/DTS/SDDS

How does my audio mix preference look for you?

I'll be looking forward into assembling a definitive experience with this film someday.
- David :)

The Shout!Factory release had the original Ultra Stereo 2.0 on top of the 5.1 remix. But that 5.1 had little to no LFE at all so it is possible that the 4.0 is a straight port of the 70mm Six-track mix and was released with no information on the Left and Right center tracks (not unheard of, Heaven's Gate and Edward Scissorhands were reportedly 4-track discrete in a six-track container).

I don’t recall the line about the French fries. Pretty funny. In the interviews for Beverly Hills Cop, this was brought up a little bit. My memory of watching the supplements is Sly was originally cast as Axel, then his ideas of making it an action flick didn’t jibe with what the other filmmakers wanted, so he bowed out.

"The Cobra" asks Bridget Nielsen who he's protecting from the night stalker while they are on the road grabbing some food hiding out that.

And yeah, he was gonna be Axel Foley

But he wanted to blow up Beverly Hills

So when he left the project, he took all of his notes and made "Cobra" 2 years later.

1986 baby
Another bit of trivia:

In "Beverly Hills Cop II", 1987
Rosewood has a poster for "Cobra" on his bedroom wall.

And Bridget Nielsen, Stallone's wife at the time, starred in the sequel to "Beverly Hills Cop"

I wonder if there’s a mix existing for the 70mm six-track Dolby stereo release of the original “Die Hard”, 1988 anywhere?

I know it was shot on 35 mm and blown up for 70 mm engagements but I clearly remember the advertisements

"Presented in 70 mm six Trakt Dolby stereo"

"IT WILL BLOW YOU THROUGH THE BACK WALL OF THE THEATER"

(I did not see the 70 mm release. I was 13 at the time and my grandmother agreed to take me to the movies to see either "Coming to America" or "Die Hard"

Needed with her to take me to Die Hard,
I think it blew her through the back wall of the theater

"Too many guns" she said afterwards

Great news, I will certainly buy this (I love the 80s), but it seems it will be difficult to sell the Shout blu-ray.

There's plenty of inadvertently funny things in this movie but the best actual gag and funniest part of the movie has to be Stallone cutting the pizza with scissors. It's too stupid to believed which makes it even funnier.
Excellent!!!!
