The Library of Congress was donated a huge collection of archival material by the AIF and Liz Taylor in the early 1980's, but just how much?
A quick look at the LoC website revealed the staggering amount of material...

Check out the number of reels of film! (251 reels is aproximately 42 hours of footage for the B&W 35mm set)
(BTW, this is my 2000th post! Yay, I guess.)

It would be nice if someone could come up with the two Todd-AO promotional shorts.

Wow! I hope that the most interesting bits from those 42 hours will make it to a DVD. Is there a DVD in the works?

BTW Patrick - perfect message to have as your 2000th post!

It looks like a short theatrical revival will occur this year in 70mm (30fps version) with a DVD coming later this year.

PacTitle is doing the restoration, so it ought to be pretty good. They did some restoration work for Superman and the Kubrick movies owned by WB.

Thanks for this fantastic news, Patrick. First, you were responsible for the TCM showing of the widescreen stereo version, and now you're spreading the word on the restoration and DVD release. Mike Todd would be proud of you.
