If your setup can handle R2/PAL DVD's, I would suggest that you should wait for the UK 2-disc Special Edition, due out November 11th. Check This Thread for more details.
Supposedly it has the exact same contents as the R1 2 disc S.E., but that set is out of print, and difficult (read: expensive) to get.....
If you can only display NTSC and/or R1, you should really read the excellent guide to the Evil Dead series by Greg Yurkovic.
You should be able to get both R1 versions as separate discs. First came the double disc set with both versions housed together. Then came two separate versions, the original U.S. version (with all the features from disc one of the original two disc set) and then later a "limited edition director's cut" which was really disc 2 of the original set packaged separately.
As I understand it, the "limited edition" director's cut must have just been limited as far as the cover design as you can now buy the U.S. version of the film as well as the "Bootleg Version" as it is called, which is just the repackaged director's cut with all of the extras.
Long story short, the original deluxe edition is available in the U.S. as two separate discs.
