I just got an all-region DVD player and this disc is probably the top non-region 1 disc that I'd like to find, but I can't find it on any European DVD retail sites or auction sites. What's the status of this disc? Is it OOP? Does anyone have any idea where I can obtain a copy?

BTW, this is the version with the remastered director's cut that is miles above the American version in quality.

The CONTENT (supplements, etc.) is exactly the same as the previous Anchor Bay R1 Director's Cut/Bootleg Cut. The original, theatrical ending is tagged on as a extra. Definitely see Gary's comparison...the film also contains a tiny bit of extra footage not seen elsewhere before, is in the proper aspect ratio, and is mixed (quite well) in DD 5.1, which previous versions of the Director's Cut did not have. Best of all, the "restored scenes" are from true film elements so it looks MUCH better than the R1 versions. The R3 version is a true must if you're a fan of the film.

What bit of footage has not been seen elsewhere?

btw, I did the comparison at DVDBeaver. I also have screenshots of two of the AOD Laserdiscs that aren't included in that comparo.

Well, a lot has been made of the "extra" footage, but it's literally about 2 seconds longer when Evil Ash tears Sheila's clothing off her shoulder. This had previously not appeared in either R1 edition.

I'll give credit where's it's due. Nice comparison, Mark!

Alternatively, the HK version can be found on koreandvds.com for $14.
